Walking through the forest,
the place I and many others call home,
I see love everywhere.
I hear birds crying out,
looking for their mate
among the tree-tops.
Whether it’s a new mate
or one they’ve already found,
they easily find each other.
The trees are in communion with themselves above me,
the plants are doing the same, close to my paws.
They’ve been with each other
since they were…
I wonder how feminists will react to this
Probably ignore it then go back to making male tears mugs and gifs
Actually this is a very common idea among feminists
It’s something feminists have been talking about for years it’s called toxic masculinity and it’s one of the common threads among the topic of ‘Patriarchy hurts men too’. If fact the first time I read about toxic masculinity was on a feminist blog.
If you actually read things feminists talk about instead of straw manning them you might know this but OH WELL
You ever feel the pressure to look or feel manly, to act manly, to comment on how women look even when you don’t feel comfortable doing so (Like, “damn, she’s hot)? I do. I have felt a lot of pressure to act manly or to not talk about my feelings. I have trouble admitting to other men that I like musicals. I have trouble admitting that I’ve been in love with the same girl for more than 9 years and no I have never been interested in another girl. Why? Because for some reason, society demands I be a pig, that I like whiskey and football (I do like football, for the record), and that pisses me off.
I surround myself with people that don’t care about these things, don’t pressure me into lying about myself, but that doesn’t mean I don’t feel it.
I am all for feminism because I am tired of not always being comfortable being a straight man who doesn’t measure up to someone else’s standards of masculinity.
reverse werewolves. wolves that turn into confused but excited humans every month at the full moon and run around doing weird human stuff until they wake up the next day in the middle of an office with a suit loosely draped over their wolf form
Alpha werewolves excitedly crashing Home Depot and getting tons of hammers and wrenches and lumber all like I’M GONNA BUILD A DECK!!!
Sorry I haven’t been posting on here; college, work, and my freelancing gig have been keeping me occupied. I’ve also expanded my writing platform onto HubPages, and I want to focus on building that up as much as I can.
I haven’t been writing much poetry either, I guess there hasn’t been anything significant that’s been affecting my life at the moment (I hope I didn’t just jinx that).…
have you ever had to restart a song because you spaced out and weren’t appreciating it enough
Pretty much any Tool or Pink Floyd song.
